Every Wednesday at the Parramatta farmers market,
here’s a young Taiwanese brother-and-sister duo running a stall where you can buy authentic Taiwanese gua bao.
It’s absolutely delicious, and they also have vegetarian options.
The younger brother studied culinary arts and previously worked at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Now he and his sister are living in Sydney with one goal: to bring Taiwanese gua bao to a wider audience and share it with the world!
The siblings put a lot of care into preparing their ingredients and are incredibly passionate about what they do. Every time I stop by their stall to chat, they always give me extra food. Today they even treated me to shrimp crackers and Hainanese chicken, and added a soft-boiled marinated egg to my gua bao.
To my friends in Sydney — and to anyone visiting Sydney — I’m taking you there for gua bao (Taiwanese burgers). I guarantee you’ll love it!
